Rooftop terraces – top notch living space with exclusivity
A private island of quietness – with a straight view into the stars
What is the function your terrace should fulfill?
A terrace can have many different purposes – there are endless possibilities.
A private sundeck – that’s nice but make sure that you have shadow zones as well
A cozy outdoor lounge with a view to the sky – for a romantic dinner for two.
A vegetable and herb garden: Most suitable here are raised beds with automated watering. Your back will appreciate it!
A playground for your children – launch area for paper planes and drones (on your own risk).
A private bathing island with an infinity-pool and a mountain view – exclusive as it gets.
A raised hide for your barbecue – enjoy your evening with your friends.
A Bonsai garden: Specially on rooftop terraces Bonsais loos great.

Advanced knowledge about materials are crucial for long lasting terrace construction
Quite often terrace construction is like gardening under harsh conditions. There are special requirements that must be taken into account strictly.
Structural strength of the building: What is the maximum payload you can apply?
Water installation during winter: Frost resistance is a crucial l point, otherwise you risk some expensive water damages.
Irrigation: On rooftop terraces in summertime the sun can be very strong, that’s why automatic watering is recommended.
Privacy: A vision protection ensures your privat life.
Weather protection: Rainfall is one thing, winds and gusts another one. Proper planning takes both into account.
Rooftop inspiration no. 1 – an atmospheric outdoor lounge
Good garden designers know how to create ambience and a cozy atmosphere. In this lengthy roof terrace, we created several welcoming lounges, where you can perfectly admire the view of the lake and the mountains.
Now the rooftop terrace is a spacious living area, especially in the warm season.
Rooftop inspiration no. 1 – a riverscape on the roof
Is it actually possible to grow plants outside containers on a roof terrace? At first glance, this seems impossible – but it is actually feasible. In this project we have created a landscape that immerses you in a prairie or a river landscape.
The unobstructed view of the lake combines with the grasses to create an atmosphere rarely seen on a roof terrace.
Rooftop inspiration no. 3 – Outdoor lounge on the mountain with lake access
For many of our clients, a roof terrace is a haven of peace, especially when Lake Zug greets them from afar.
In this project, the idea was to improve the design of the open space, using an outdoor carpet, containers, and trees.
Rooftop inspiration no. 4 – a safe paradise for children
What to do if your roof terrace is not safe enough for young children, but they desperately want to play outside? It’s quite simple: you enclose the railing with square containers.
Through the gaps, you can still see Lake Zug, and the little ones have their own secure kingdom.
